Blessed are the Meek

To continue our new series, “The Kingdom Manifesto”, we will be getting into Jesus’s next message: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth. The word meek usually comes with a negative connotation to label someone who is submissive or is unable to speak up for themselves even when they’re treated unfairly, so why does God instruct us to be “meek”? Meekness, from a Christian perspective, is about faith, and trusting God to win the battle as opposed to trying to win the battle ourselves. Being meek does not mean “weak” (though often misinterpreted in that way), but rather acknowledging God’s power and love in our lives and remembering that He has a plan for us.
