Blessed are the Merciful

Have you ever found it difficult to show mercy and forgiveness towards someone who has wronged you? Many find themselves in this position, and it is very easy to hold grudges, especially when you’re deeply hurt by someone you love. Oftentimes this leads us to believe that this person does not deserve our forgiveness. As Christians, we must remember that God being merciful means that when we deserve punishment for our sins, He does not punish us. Instead, he blesses us by giving us the opportunity to receive eternal life. God fully demonstrates His mercy in Jesus Christ who laid down His life and became the sacrificial lamb so that true mercy can be extended to us. God shows us mercy by forgiving us even when we do not deserve it, so we do not have the right to withhold forgiveness from others. We invite you to join us this Sunday as Pastor Brown leads us in continuation of our series “the Kingdom Manifesto” using God’s word in Matthew 5:7!
